Angela Grima's Childrens Teaching Experience


• Teaching at various schools as a classroom teacher. Organising and teaching percussion, drumming, recorder groups and private flute tuition for primary and high school aged children - these experiences have been invaluable in obtaining an extra understanding as to the learning needs of the children and young adults in the different stages i.e. Early Stage 1, Stage1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6


• Developing and implementing innovative percussion programs for children with learning difficulties. These programs were very popular and made a substantial contribution towards improving students self confidence & understanding of the syllabus


• Conducting recycled percussion workshops for several hundred children at Government and Private Schools over several months. This culminated in the children with the assistance of the Drum Beats musicians leading the Willoughby Councils Annual Spring Parade with a drumming performance through the streets of Chatswood - 2003, 2004 & 2005 Testimonial


• Writing and scoring original and innovative compositions for individual school requirements.


• Co creator of the rhythm in sports programs – whereby children learnt specific drumming rhythms enhance their movement & skill acquisition skills

 

Tertiary Qualification and performing experiences.


• Bachelor of Music Honours degree


• A young actor's scholarship with Sydney Theatre Company and Bradfield College


• Writing and performing music for award winning short films - in 2000 she was nominated for the Australian guild of composing awards.


• Angela is a professional flautist, jazz and opera singer, she plays flutes from other countries and of course is a dynamic percussionist.

 

• She has performed at The Basement, Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Fringe Festival and a variety of other Australian venues.


• Staging puppet shows for her class mates at the tender age of 5 – (could she lay claim to having been the youngest artistic director in Australia?)
